According to MARCA, Sami Khedira might not end up in the English Premier League, nor Ligue 1, but back home in Germany

Just as James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, and Luis Suarez all lit up the transfer window with the constant rumors surrounding their future, so has German midfielder Sami Khedira.

However, one big difference is where the above players' final destination was well know, the Real Madrid star could find himself anywhere across Europea's top leagues.

The 27-year-old Les Merengues man, who won the 2014 World Cup with die Mannschaft, is believed to be on Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho's radar.

However, it was later assumed that the he would be used in a player-plus-cash move for Los Blancos latest acquisition James Rodriguez, who cost the 10-time Champions League winners £63m.

But now, Sami Khedira has been contacted by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in an attempt to bring the German to the Allianz Arena as a free agent when his contract ends in 2015, MARCA understands.

Reportedly, the Gunners made significant progress in landing Khedira, but saw a move held back by personal terms as Khedira was rumored to have wanted £150,000 a week, which would have made him the highest-paid player at the Emirates, surpassing Mesut Ozil and Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez

However, this latest transfer revelation could see better contract conditions for the German if he were to sit out the remainder of his Les Merengues deal.

Khedira, who was a key part in the German national team that ended their country's 24 year drought from football's,greatest prize, is loved back home after spending four years with Bundesliga side Stuttgart's senior side, and could replace the gap left by Toni Kroos' Santiago Bernabeu switch if he were to team-up with Pep Guardiola.

However, the Bavarians publicly denied any sort of move for the Real Madrid ace. When asked about speculations of a move for the 27-year-old, die Roten CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge responded with: "That is a myth."
