Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is growing confident in his chase of three of his summer transfer targets, according to the Telegraph.
The long-serving Frenchman has earmarked three positions in his team where recruitment is needed; a holding midfielder, a world-class striker, and a right-back to replace the departed Bacary Sagna.
The North London club have made advancement in their attempts to acquire the services of Barcelona forward, Alexis Sanchez.
Reports initially favored an Anfield arrival for the former Udinese attacker in a player-plus-cash Barcelona move for Luis Suarez, but Liverpool have turned down the offer and wish to be paid in full for the Uruguayan.
This has put the London side ahead in the race for Sanchez with rumors suggesting a £32m bid from Arsenal has already been acceped by the Catalan side.
Another name on Wenger's transfer wishlist is German midfielder Lars Bender. Arsenal have frequently been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen vice-captain.
The FA Cup champions had a £19m offer previously turned down but believe an improved offer could see them land their ideal Mikel Arteta replacement as they look set to resurrect their interest in the 25-year-old.
Arteta, at 32 years of age, has past his prime, forcing Wenger to dive into the market for his replacement. Bender, however, is currently under contract with his Bundesliga side until 2019 and has continuously stated his desire to remain at the BayArena.

Lastly, the Gunners boss is eyeing Newcastle United right-back Mathieu Debucy as the man to fill the gap left by Bacary Sagna, who jumped ships to join English Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Magpies defender, who arrived at St. James Park in 2013 from Lille, looks set for a Newcastle exit after removing the English club's name from his Twitter bio.
However, there is a gap between Wenger and Alan Pardew's valuation of the Frenchman with Arsene ready to offer £10m whilst Pardew is standing firm on a £12m fee.
