Marouane Fellaini will likely leave Manchester United after the World Cup, to possibly be replaced by William Carvalho.

Manchester United are dreaming big this season, as the English club has been linked to extremely talented players, who come with a big price tag. Amongst the hottest names there are Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, Juventus’ Arturo Vidal, and Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

Fellaini will face Messi in the World Cup, as Belgium will play Argentina in the quarter finals

However, many of these talents would like to play the Champions League, which could turn many of them away from Old Trafford, as Man United failed to qualify for the competition. Luis van Gaal wishes to sign William Carvalho, the cheapest of the 3 players, but even Sporting’s talent has a buy-out clause £37M.

Therefore, it becomes a necessity to sell some players. The Dutch manager was even more clear about who he does not want at Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ manager would like to sell Fellaini, whom he described as “not a United type of player.”

The Belgian is still involved in the World Cup and will need to play extremely well in order to attract offers by other clubs. Manchester United would also wish for former Everton midfielder to perform well during the international tournament, in order to sell the player for a sum at least close to the £27M they paid for him.
