Today Barcelona presented their new Croatian star, Ivan Rakitic. The Catalans finalized the transfer last month, but had to wait for Croatia’s World Cup to end, in order to officially present the player.

The talented midfielder, had an incredible season with Sevilla, where he quickly became the captain and leader of the 2014 Europa League winners. Last season, the Croatian made 59 appearances and scored 15 goals, which is even more impressive considering the defensive duties that he was often given by Unai Emery.

Barcelona decided to sign the 26-year-old to replace the departing Cesc Fabregas, who had comparatively a disastrous season. The Blaugrana offered Rakitic a 5-year deal believed to be worth about €16M.
