If today’s game between Portugal and the United States is a trailer of what is waiting for us in this last round of group-stage matches, it is time to brace ourselves. Group G’s second round was nothing short of incredible.

First, yesterday’s tie between Germany and Ghana, and now the tie between team America and Portugal. The game kept the supporters of both the USA and Bento’s squad on the very edge of their seats.
What a game! #USAMNT #USAvsPOR

The two teams played their hearts out, and although USMNT may have deserved to come out with a win, a dramatic goal by Varela 27 seconds before the end of the hostilities, tied the match at 2-2.

The reactions by fans from all over the World filled social medias, as disappointment and joy afflicted supporters everywhere. This result however, only benefits the show, as Portugal’s hopes are ephemeral at best and the Americans’ path to the round of 16 has been unnecessarily compromised.
Interesting matches today! #BEL #RUS #USA #POR #daretowin Shak

Thursday will be as decisive as it will ever be for all 4 teams in the group. Though Portuguese and Ghanaian fans will be worried about an agreed-upon tie between the United States and Germany, which would see Portugal and Ghana out for good.
Sick for the US boys....
