Edin Dzeko released some very hard comments with regards to the "shameful" refereeing that took place yesterday in the game between Bosnia and Nigeria.

Yesterday’s game between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Nigeria condemned Bosnia to an early exit from the 2014 World Cup. However, the Bosnian national team, as well as their supporters felt rightfully cheated.

Bosnia captain Spahic was not happy with the referee during yesterday's game

In fact, during the first half, Edin Dzeko was denied the absolute clearest of goal, as the linesman called an inexplicable offside. Just minutes later, Nigeria scored a questionable goal, after a tangle that sent a Bosnian defender to the ground.

Nigeria won, but not without controversy, as throughout the whole game, there was a sense that the referee was not going to allow the score to change. Manchester City’s striker, who apparently noticed the biased officiating, commented:

Today we should have won this game. The referee was shameful in this competition. We are going home, we are sad because of that but this referee should be going home too. He changed the result and he changed the game. That's why we lost.”

The Bosnian could not have been more clear and it is heartbreaking to see a very good team go home, especially after dominating the game against the Africans. After the rumors of game fixing before Scotland Nigeria, and the many instances that saw Nigeria involved in soccer-scandals, one starts wondering about this World Cup.
