The golden generation of Belgium will try to produce results which will mirror the talents of their squad in this World Cup.

Algeria was in this situation previously; they fought bravely in their group in 2010. Belgium however was not. Their golden generation had only begun to be recognized. Now, the golden generation is in a World Cup as, not a favorite, but a dark horse. The talent at hand is remarkable.

However, so many golden generations have failed before. Germany's current generation considered one of their best, has failed in the latter stages of tournaments time and time again. England's failings have been well documented as has been that of the Netherlands. Belgium cannot afford to choke. They are far too talented to not progress from their group.

Romelu Lukaku is set to lead the line. He has had yet another excellent season in England. Kevin de Bruyne, who is an absolute joy to watch, is likely to sit behind him with Eden Hazard and Dries Mertens on either flank. Hazard was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year in England. The spotlight will be on him during this match. However, the Algerians do not have a specific plan to stop him. This is what their assistant coach, Nourredine Kourichi, said to FIFA.com:

"If we focus on Eden Hazard, we could have some nasty surprises. We know his qualities but also his weak points, but we can't focus especially on him, there are others, like Lukaku. We don't have a special plan against Hazard. We can mark and stop an opposing player with our own strategy."

Marouane Fellaini and Axel Witsel should form the pairing in defensive midfield. Daniel Van Buyten and Vincent Kompany are set to be fielded in the heart of defense with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld completing an experienced back line. The presence of Thibaut Courtois in goal simply adds to the strength of the defense.
