All is set for Los Blancos to defend the intercontinental title for the third year running.

2018 UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid will play in the last four of the FIFA Club World Cup against Kashima Antlers. The Japanese side defeated Mexican side CD Guadalajara by three goals to two in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.

The Asians started off on the wrong foot after Guadalajara scored in the third-minute via Angel Zaldivar. Having taken the deficit into the first half break, Ryota Nagaki equalized for Japanese side Kashima four minutes after the proceedings resumed.

Serginho then set Antlers on the path to glory by firing home a penalty in the 69th-minute before Hiroki Abe grabbed the third and eventual game-winner in the 84th-minute. Leo Silva's own-goal in injury time only proved to have arrived too late for Guadalajara with their opponent securing a semi-final date with Real Madrid on December 12.

Santiago Solari's men endured a tough test against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. The side's struggles in attack continued as it only managed to run-off with a narrow victory at the Santiago Bernabeu kind courtesy Karim Benzema's 13th-minute strike.

A win for Los Blancos on Wednesday in what will be a repeat of the 2016 Club World Cup final will set them on course for a fourth Club World Cup trophy in five years and a third in succession.

Hosts Al Ain and recently crowned Copa Libertadores champions River Plate will feature in the second semi-final.
