With the La Liga season resembling a train wreck, Florentino Pérez seems ready to give the boot to the former La Roja boss.

It's time for change at Real Madrid after a disappointing start of the 2018-19 season.

The team's summer transfer activity didn't give fans any hope for success, and the start of this campaign has some of them asking for a quick course correction. Although some of the players haven't shown their best form, it will be the manager who ends up leaving his spot if things don't change, and there is already one name being tipped as the one who will replace under-fire boss Julen Lopetegui.

Just like almost three years ago, when Zinedine Zidane replaced Rafa Benítez as Los Blancos' boss, Real Madrid's hierarchy is thinking about someone from inside the ranks to take over as coach. Several members of the Spanish press have named Santiago Solari as the next in line to replace Lopetegui.

The player, who had his glory days during "Los Galácticos" era alongside Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Figo, David Beckham and Raúl, has been coaching Real Madrid Castilla since Zidane left to coach the senior squad.

Solari is the first option to replace Lopetegui since Guti left the club this summer to join Besiktas. Other names mentioned in the Spanish press include Antonio Conte, but his recent firing from Chelsea and his lack of response to Real Madrid's calls last summer give him the least options to replace Lopetegui.

The current Real Madrid boss held a meeting with Florentino Pérez right after the game against Levante took place. Despite the "positive" feelings that reunion had, it seems that there is no force of nature capable of giving Lopetegui one more chance as Los Blancos' boss, even with El Clásico set to be played next week.
