Los Blancos have strongly questioned Tebas' plan in a letter which has found its way to the media.

La Liga's plan to hold a league game in the United States faces much opposition. One of the biggest opposers to this move is Real Madrid, with their thoughts on this matter recently being leaked.

A letter sent by the Spanish giant to the league officials got in the hands of the media, with Cadena Ser grabbing a copy. The letter, signed by Los Blancos general manager Jose Angel Sanchez Perianez, severely questions Javier Tebas' desire to hold Girona vs Barcelona in Miami.

This plan is the brainchild of the Spanish Primera Division president who believes holding this Catalan derby at the Hard Rock Stadium will increase La Liga's popularity in the USA. However, Real Madrid argues that there are better means to boost commercial success while opposing holding the game at a neutral venue.

"Real Madrid cannot be satisfied that one of the games in the First Division National League Championship, in which our entity participates, can be played, by voluntary decision, at a neutral venue," the letter read.

"It's surprising that such a request comes from someone who should maintain a position of exquisite impartiality.

"It's surprising that the demonstration made by LaLiga Santander when tending to try to justify an interest with respect to the fans has, curiously, not taken into account commercializing these broadcasting rights.

"How can the broadcasting rights for the matches in the United States be awarded to beIN, whose beIN Sports channel has an annual average audience 'share' of just 0.02 percent?"

The Champions League holder instead advises the officials to use television deals to promote La Liga instead in their stance against this move. The plan had been for this game to be held in January, but time is not on Tebas' side.

It is believed that Real Madrid is not alone in their opposition, with players tipped to be against this move. Furthermore, this proposition reportedly doesn't have the backing of FIFA president Gianni Infantino who believes it favors commercial success over the interest of the fans.

Girona and Barcelona players are said to have given this plan the green light, but Tebas faces many obstacles. With the clock ticking, some predict that holding games on foreign soil will eventually be delayed until next season at the earliest.
