Italian newspapers have filled their pages with rumors about a possible reunion between Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo at Juventus, and today, the Brazilian footballer decided to step up and talk about his immediate future.
Speaking in an interview with RealMadridTV, Marcelo admitted that the thought of leaving Los Blancos has never crossed his mind, and he intends to live up to the contract he has signed and extended with the Spanish giants time and time again.
"That's a topic that should be overlooked. I'm really happy at Real Madrid, it's my home. I have many years left in my contract and I'm quite happy here. It's the best club in the world and I will always want to play in the best club," Marcelo stated on that subject.
"Ever since I got here there have been rumors about it, and sometimes I wonder what I have to do to prove that I want to play here and that I can play for this team. I will always give 100% to play here," he added.
The Brazilian left back pointed out the source of those rumors, urging people to believe in his commitment to the team, since he has never had a doubt in his mind.
"I have it really clear in my head: I want to keep playing here, and I'm not as old as I look. Lots of people use the anonimity of social media to spread nonsense around, creating stuff out of nowhere. I'm really looking forward to be here for a very long time, I'm like an 18-year old, like Vinicius! I'm staying here until the end of my deal," Marcelo said.
Speaking about his successful career at Real Madrid, Marcelo revealed how it felt to win the UEFA Champions League with Los Blancos, adding that there is one ritual he will never be a part of when winning trophies.
"Those moments will live forever in my mind, I'm looking forward to share them with my kids. It's a dream come true for me," the player said.
"When we celebrate, some of the guys choose to get a haircut. Usually Keylor (Navas) gets to cut their hair, and I help with those who want to shave their heads. Nevertheless, you'll never see me with such a look: my hair isn't to be touched," Marcelo concluded.
