The London giant is hoping to land their summer targets to bolster the squad for Sarri's debut season.

Chelsea is one club searching for quality additions in the summer transfer window and is eyeing a move for two Serie A players. This is according to Corriere dello Sport, claiming that Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has traveled to Italy in pursuit of their targets.

Those men are none other than Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani, both of whom ply their trade at Juventus. The Blues official reportedly met with the Bianconeri officials on Thursday, with a move for those two players being the key topic.

Rugani dominated the discussion, as the London giant is closer to agreeing on a deal for the 23-year-old defender. The Premier League outfit is ready to cough up $63M but the Old Lady desires to secure a replacement first before giving that transfer the green light.

As for Higuain, he has been identified as an ideal target to led Chelsea's English top-flight chase. With Cristiano Ronaldo having arrived in Turin, the Serie A champion is open to letting the Argentine go, and Maurizio Sarri is one of his admirers.

It was under the Italian boss that Higuain scored an impressive 36 goals in 35 Serie A games back in 2015/16. Given the disappointment that was Alvaro Morata's debut campaign, the South American forward might just be the addition Chelsea needs.

However, nothing has been agreed yet over the 30-year-old. AC Milan is also interested in the forward, meaning the Stamford Bridge side stands a great chance of missing out on the Argentine.
