The Brazilian is in contention to feature in Juventus' tricky game away to Valencia.

Douglas Costa has found out the extent of his punishment for his disgraceful act over the weekend in Juventus' Serie A win. The Brazilian attacker has been slapped with a four-game suspension for violent conduct after his clash with Sassuolo's Federico di Francesco.

The incident occurred during Sunday's 2-1 win, as the Brazilian was involved in a tussle with the Italian late on in the game. Costa was guilty of aiming an elbow and a headbutt at his opponent, with the Selecao ace eventually being sent off after VAR showed he spat in Francesco's face.

The league has thus decided to ban him for the Bianconeri's four upcoming games in the Italian top-flight. This means the 28-year-old will be forced to sit out his team's crucial clash with Napoli, while he will also be unavailable for ties against Frosinone, Bologna, and Udinese.

Costa has already apologized for his actions, taking to social media to show remorse shortly after being sent off. Nonetheless, he will play no part in Serie A until late October.

However, this ban has no effect on the Champions League. The Brazilian is eligible to play in Europe, which will come as a huge boost for Allegri as they will face a tricky test in their opener against Valencia. Costa has been named in the Old Lady's squad, but whether he will start or will be benched remains unknown.
