The Manchester United pair combined to get England’s opener in the UEFA Nations League match in front of their club manager.

Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford finished off a brilliant passing move to hand England the lead in the early minutes of their UEFA Nations League encounter with Spain. The buildup was started by the Three Lions goalie Jordan Pickford whose pass found skipper Harry Kane in midfield.

The Spurs forward then set up Luke Shaw down the left flank and unleashed the pace of the full-back by locating him with another pass. The defender then swept in a cross to be tapped home by Marcus Rashford despite the forward being under pressure in La Roja's penalty area.

The satisfaction of the night's feat was, however, shortlived with Spain replying with just two minutes after and increasing the lead 21 minutes later. Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez and Valencia's Rodrigo delivered the goods for the 2010 World Cup winners.

A side development which made waves on social media amid the encounter showed Jose Mourinho nodding in approval to how well his two players worked the ball before Rashford got the goal. Check out some of the reactions on Twitter below:
