The alleged dispute between the boss and the midfielder was fueled by Pogba's comments after their 2-1 win against Leicester.

The relationship between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho has apparently reached an all-time low, as the Portuguese boss and the French footballer were in the middle of a tense discussion after their 2-1 win last Friday.

Pogba's comments about being fined if he voiced his thoughts regarding a transfer got to Mourinho's ear, and prompted a tense exchange between the Special One and the Red Devils' skipper during the weekend, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid reveals that Mourinho confronted Pogba over his comments about a possible fine if he discussed his transfer situation. Mourinho allegedly asked the player to say things to his face rather than making them public, and if he wanted to leave the club, he should ask for a transfer request.

The tabloid reveals that Pogba's reply was as fiery as his first statement, since he reportedly told Mourinho that any further communication between them should be handled by his agent, Mino Raiola.

This supposed rift comes right after Mourinho seemed to offer Pogba an olive branch in Friday's post-match press conference. The Special One praised Pogba's performance against Leicester, but even that wasn't enough for Pogba to forget Mourinho's comments about his antics away from the pitch, which see him losing focus on what really matters throughout the season.

With the transfer window closing in Italy tomorrow, a possible move away from the EPL would see Pogba joining either PSG or Barcelona, since those are the only clubs capable of paying the footballer a similar wage as he collects weekly at Man United. Only time will tell if Mou and Pogba can set their differences aside, but it seems that their relationship reached a point of no return last Friday.
