With PSG coming under scrutiny once more for their lavishing spending, many have predicted that the club will need to sell a few big names should FFP sanctions come knocking. With Neymar and Kylian Mbappe being their two highest-valued players, it has been reported that they will be forced to sell one.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, however, has publicly ruled this out. Speaking to Le Parisien, the Qatari billionaire made it clear that neither the Brazilian nor the Frenchman would be sold.
"They (Neymar and Mbappe) will stay in Paris," Al-Khelaifi told the French daily.
"Many media, especially in France, claim that one would need to sell Neymar or Kylian. I want to confirm that they will stay here."
Thanks to Football Leaks, the Ligue 1 giant looked destined to be investigated by UEFA. If found guilty by the European football's governing body, sanctions will follow and could range from fines to even a transfer ban.
However, Al-Khelaifi insisted that his club has done no wrongdoings and has opened the door for UEFA to "conduct its research". While this also is reassuring news for PSG fans, the Neymar-Mbappe announcement will be all they wanted to hear.
The 27-year-old and 20-year-old have been instrumental for Tuchel's side this season. While the Selecao ace is currently out with injury, the 2018 World Cup winner is still firing at all four cylinders for Les Parisiens.
The former Monaco ace is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season and showed his worth in the Champions League once more, scoring a crucial goal in the 2-0 round of 16 win over Man United. This, however, will come as a huge blow for two clubs: Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Los Blancos are on the lookout for a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo and have been linked with both Neymar and Mbappe. The Blaugrana, on the other hand, has reportedly been eager to bring back the Brazilian to Camp Nou and was hoping to profit from possible PSG sanctions.
