The veteran Spanish shot-stopper featured in goal for FC Porto in Tuesday’s nerve-racking encounter.

Casillas became the first-ever player after Cristiano Ronaldo to reach 100 wins in the history of the UEFA Champions League. The 37-year-old former Real Madrid goalkeeper was in-between the sticks for Porto in Tuesday's thrilling matchup against Galatasaray which saw the latter demoted to the Europa League after being on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.

The Turks saw their night heading south when Felipe opened the scoring for the visitors in the 17th minute with a well-timed header. Moussa Marega then doubled the lead of the Portuguese outfit with a penalty kick in the 42nd minute before Sofiane Feghouli pulled one back for the host via a spot-kick.

A defensive error subsequently handed Sergio Oliveira the opportunity to restore Porto's lead in the second-half. However, the tale could have been different had it not been for Feghouli missing his side's second penalty in the 67th minute. Prior to the mishap, Eren Derdiyok's strike had reduced Galatasaray's goal deficit to one.

The century of victories was not the only achievement in the night for Casillas as he also managed to extend his Champions League appearance record. The ex-Spanish international is currently in his 20th campaign on the European front.
