Coach Julen Lopetegui will not be able to field one of his playmakers due to an untimely illness.

Real Madrid's injury-free season is over, as one of the team's most influential players from the last couple of seasons will be out for a month.

As the team prepared their mid-week trip to Sevilla to face Los Hispalenses, coach Julen Lopetegui was informed that Spanish playmaker Isco would not be available to make the trip. The reason? Los Blancos' No. 22 showed up to train with appendicitis, prompting the team's medical staff to prepare an emergency surgery to correct the problem.

This represents a major setback for the Spanish boss, since the team faces a heavy workload in the next few weeks. The player will be out for at least four games, including Wednesday's clash against Sevilla and the Madrid derby against Atlético on Saturday.

Added to those games, Isco will miss the UEFA Champions League game against CSKA on October 2. The last game Isco is currently ruled out from is the trip to face Alavés on October 6, prior to the second International Break of the season.

Isco's illness will also have an effect on Spain's squad, as the footballer will not be available to play against Wales or England. According to Spanish outlet Marca, the player's main goal is to recover just in time to face Barcelona on October 28.
