Apparently, there is no hard feelings from Jose Mourinho against Zinedine Zidane after the French boss was appointed as Real Madrid boss for the second time.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish media outlet Marca, Mourinho seemed to wish Zidane all the best in his new job, even if he seemed to be close to landing that coaching spot for himself.
"I think it's perfect with the fantastic things he's done in recent years. It's perfect for me, perfect for Madrid, perfect for him,' Mourinho said.
Then, the Portuguese tactician mentioned how this new chance with Los Blancos will give Zizou an opportunity to cement his legacy as a top-caliber boss.
"It's a great opportunity to show how good he is, especially now with a new project. I think he's great," Mourinho added.
The French boss worked under Mourinho at Real Madrid years ago, and was also named as the Special One's would-be replacement at Old Trafford when things were not going well for the Portuguese tactician. Eventually, both men were paired up in the race to become Los Blancos' new coach, with Zidane "winning" that race thanks by his good relationship with some of Real's key players, something that Mourinho is far from enjoying.
