Their are both pros and cons for Man City if either side was to qualify but the Spaniard will be rooting for one team in particular.

On Wednesday, Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich in a tricky Champions League clash. The Reds drew the first leg 0-0 and must score at the Allianz Arena at the very least to stand a chance of progression.

One club that will be following this match closely is Man City. While the Citizens booked their ticket to the next round already courtesy of a 10-2 win over Schalke, the fate of their Merseyside rival could share the Citizens' season.

Progression in Europe could improve Guardiola's men's odds of retaining the Premier League title, as Klopp would have the juggle with two different competitions. An exit on Wednesday would mean Salah and Co. would have nothing to focus on but the English top-flight.

Despite this, Pep admitted that he would like to see Liverpool crash out. The reason: his former Bundesliga side remains deep in his heart.

The Spaniard managed the Bavarians prior to his Etihad Stadium arrival, spending three seasons with the Bundesliga giant. While this is his third season since quiting die Roten, his love for the club has not wilted.

"I'm sorry for the English people but I want Bayern to go through," Pep stated.

"I am part of this club. I love Munich. I love Bayern. I have a lot of friends there."

Bayern Munich vs Liverpool will decide only one of two remaining Champions League quarter-final spots, the other going to either Barcelona or Lyon. Don't miss this highly-anticipated showdown.
