The Dutch wingman is not satisfied with his role with the French side, and his transfer wishes were given a boost by OL's owner.

Some players are well-known for their bold statements...and then, there's Memphis Depay.

The former Manchester United flop left the Red Devils to find his form once again and seemed to be doing fine at Olympique Lyon, where he scored 22 goals during his second season with the French side. Nevertheless, his form took one more dip this year, as he has only managed to score 6 times in 22 games.

Taking all these stats under consideration and keeping in mind his past at Manchester United, the player came up with some shocking claims earlier today, where he demanded to be released by Olympique Lyon in favor of joining a top-caliber club.

"I want to be transferred to a top contender. Lyon is a great club, but it is not among the top four in Europe. I'd love to join Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG or Bayern München. I'd like to join a team that truly makes you enjoy playing football," Depay stated.

Surprisingly, his wishes could come to fruition next summer, according to a quote by OL's owner, Jean-Michel Aulas.

"Memphis came from Manchester United to Lyon, where he has turned into one of the best European players. He wants to aim higher, and that's something I respect," Aulas added, hinting that a major bid for the Dutch player could see him bid farewell to Lyon.
