The former French international has not been able to turn things around for Les Princes.

In an unexpected turn of events, Thierry Henry has been suspended from his role as Monaco coach.

The former Arsenal player and France international has spent just over three months on the job, but Monaco execs believe that the club needs to be shaken up in time to avoid relegation. The team revealed its decision via a short press release issued on their website.

Henry's decision to expel several players from the first team has caused the board to act. Henry revealed that he made that call because "too many players to name were only thinking about their own future" rather than fighting to keep the team in Ligue 1.

Monaco has only been able to win five games out of 20 under Henry, which has seen the team's situation worsen in Ligue 1's standings. As of now, Monaco is ranked 19th in the French top flight, only one point over Guingamp.

To add insult to Henry's short term as boss, Monaco execs are considering Leonardo Jardim as his replacement. The French ace took over for Jardim three months ago, in what would be an unprecedented managerial change.

The team's training session on Friday will have Franck Passi taking over as coach until the team's execs can come to a decision regarding Henry's future.
