Current form: Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig
Bayern have won their last three Bundesliga games to slowly inch up the table, but die Roten still have a long way to go to catch up to first-placed Dortmund. It has not been an easy debut season at the Allianz Arena for Niko Kovac, who despite securing a spot in the round of 16 is still under increasing pressure to get better results. Dortmund currently sit nine points clear thanks to an excellent start to the term, whilst Bayern have lost three games already and sit in third. Certainly, it looks like Bayern's undisputed reign as champions of Germany has come to an end, as clearly they are facing some stiff competition from Dortmund and even Borussia M'Gladbach, who have had a surprisingly good term so far and sit in second. Another team, though, who are creeping up on them is none other than RB Lepizig, who managed to finish in second during their debut Bundesliga campaign back in the 2016/2017 term and will be again looking to challenge for a Champions League spot.
Leipzig have won three of their last five Bundesliga games, but have struggled to get results on the road. The last five matches have followed in a win-loss-win pattern, whereupon die Bullen have won all three at home but have failed to win two on the road. Still, Ralf Rangnick's side come into this game having picked up a resounding 4-1 win over Mainz and will be fancying their chances against a Bayern side who have not looked at their very best all season.

This will be a very interesting battle as Bayern sit in third place, whilst Leipzig are just two points behind in fourth. Die Roten have fallen well behind Dortmund, but will be happy to see that die Schwarzgelben suffered their first loss recently which prevented them from moving 12 points clear. A win for Bayern would cut this gap to six points as they aim to re-gain some ground in a title race which has become a lot more interesting this season.
Leipzig, meanwhile will be hoping to break into the top three with a win at the Allianz Arena.
