'El Diego' is one game away from reaching the final match in the Ascenso MX league with Dorados, but he hasn't forgotten about his beloved Albiceleste.

Things may be going Diego Maradona's way in his Mexican adventure, but that doesn't mean that he will forget how to wreak havoc with his fiery statements.

Right after the end of the semi-final match between Maradona's Dorados de Sinaloa and FC Juárez, El Diego took time to analyze the current situation of the Argentine National Team. Maradona decided to slam Lionel Scaloni's chances of becoming La Albiceleste's permanent coach, following a somewhat successful term as a caretaker.

According to Maradona, who raised the question about Scaloni's title as a coach, Jorge Sampaoli's replacement should not be handed the permanent job, mainly because there are more experienced coaches in the South American country.

"Argentina's bosses have learned nothing. You have César Luis Menotti, Ricardo Gareca, Gustavo Alfaro, Marcelo Gallardo and Guillermo Barros Schelotto out there. We have a ton of good coaches and they give the team to Scaloni. They are looking at the world upside down," Maradona said.

Then, Maradona aimed one more scathing attack at Scaloni and the Argentine Football Association.

"Mexico hired Martino, who deserves all the best. Over there (in Argentina) we have Scaloni, who shouldn't be blamed for carrying that weight. The problem comes when he believes that he is a coach and that he can lead the team to the World Cup. Yes, he can go to the World Cup, but the motocross World Cup, not the football one," Maradona added.

Maradona's team is headed to the second leg of their semi-final tie against FC Juárez. Dorados walked away with a 2-0 win from their stadium, which increases their chances of reaching the final.
