The French wingman has been tipped to be on his way out of the Camp Nou, but things might not be as easy as initially expected.

Ousmane Dembelé might force Barcelona to stick with him...even if he has turned out to be quite a disappointment.

The under-fire footballer has been linked with a move away from Los Blaugranas, mainly due to his constant disciplinary problems and a complicated relationship with some of the team's leaders. Nevertheless, a clause included in his contract has been revealed as the main reason why Barcelona is keen on waiting for their investment to pay off.

According to information published by Die Welt, Barcelona would be forced to pay Borussia Dortmund over $45M if they parted ways with the footballer before the end of his current deal, which will take place after the 2021-22 season.

That amount was supposed to be included in Dembelé's contract as bonuses, but Borussia Dortmund took advantage of Barcelona's need to sign Neymar's replacement, and included that clause in the negotiation to secure a hefty bonus.

While sources inside the club have not confirmed this information, Barcelona will try to get the most out of the footballer, but in the event of a transfer, having to pay Borussia Dortmund an extra $45M would see Ousmane Dembelé becoming one of the worst investments in Barcelona's history, with the total amount of his transfer reaching €160M (around $180 million).
