The Blues seem to be the frontrunners to sign the footballer, but the American youngster may end up switching German cities.

Christian Pulisic seemed set to join Chelsea last week, but the latest developments in European football could see the footballer joining an elite list of players.

According to information by Sports Illustrated, the American wingman seems set to snub Chelsea's offer to join them next season, given that the Blues are set to be slapped with a transfer ban for allegedly purchasing underage players. If Chelsea is slapped with the ban, their chances of signing Pulisic will fly out of the window.

But here's where the plot thickens, since SI.com has learned that Bayern München would step up to sign Pulisic, in what would be one more transfer between Borussia Dortmund and Die Roten. Bayern is interested in signing replacements for Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, and the 20-year-old footballer would certainly fit the bill.

Michael Zorc, Borussia Dortmund's Sporting Director, has ruled out any winter transfer move involving Pulisic, but left the window open for a deal.

"We have known these rumors for many years. We plan at least until the end of the season with him. Pulisic will not leave BVB in winter," Zorc said.

So, there you have it. If it were up to you, which side would you choose? Only time will tell if Pulisic will join the likes of Lewandowski, Götze and Hummels -to name a few-, or if he can fill in the void left by a potential transfer involving Eden Hazard at Chelsea.
