England is on cloud nine at the moment after making the UEFA Nations League final four. However, this feeling of jubilation is not shared with the manager, as Gareth Southgate is reportedly unsatisfied with his team despite their recent achievement.
The Three Lions recently booked their ticket to the semi-finals of this new European competition, beating Croatia 2-1 at Wembley to win their group ahead of Spain and Modric and Co. However, Southgate's men left it late, leading to criticism from former boss Sam Allardyce.
Big Sam pointed out that the 1966 World Cup champion struggled to score from open play once again, and while that might not be Gareth main concern, the gaffer remains unhappy. And as written by the Daily Mail, the 48-year-old could shake up the national side once more.
Since arriving, Southgate has favored young players and is now ready to inject more youth into his set-up. Jadon Sancho, the 18-year-old kid performing wonders at Dortmund this season, is one but there are others in line for senior call-ups.
Reiss Nelson, the Arsenal youngster who is also grabbing headlines in the Bundesliga, is also mentioned alongside Man City's Phil Foden and Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon. Derby's Mason Mount, Wolves' Morgan Gibbs-White, and Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka have also caught Southgate's eye.
While the likes of Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, and Raheem Sterling are untouchable; other senior names could be pushed out of the picture, namely Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Fabian Delph. Those two struggle for playing time with their clubs and could pay the price with the national squad.
The aforementioned youngsters will likely get opportunities between now and England's next UEFA Nations League tie. Harry Kane and Co. booked their spot in the next round alongside Portugal, Switzerland, and Netherlands. They will face one of those three sides next summer for a spot in the final after the semi-final draw is held.
