The Italian manager was subtly critical of the Spanish forward despite his heroics against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Alvaro Morata was the star of the day as Chelsea cruised to a 3-1 victory at home to Crystal Palace in Sunday's Premier League encounter. The 26-year-old forward, who has been underwhelming in most games this season, put his frustrations behind him to bag home two goals in the win.

The goals which came in each half of the proceeding eventually took his goal tally in the last six matches to five. Currently enjoying what is one of his best-ever forms since switching La Liga for the English Premier League, Morata's goal tally in the ongoing campaign stands at five in 10 appearances. 

With the ex-Juventus and Real Madrid striker's goals propelling Chelsea to second-place on the league log, his manager Maurizio Sarri acknowledged his development in recent times. However, the former Napoli boss challenged to put much effort into working collectively with his teammates rather than actively seeking the satisfaction that comes with scoring.

"Alvaro improved the last month," Sarri said.

"Improved for the confidence, improved for the personality, improved also from the technical point of view. Now he's able to play more with the team, I think.

"But I think, also, that Alvaro has a very great physical and technical potential, so I think he can improve more.

"He's a little bit fragile from the mental point of view. But he's very young. I think he can improve, improve very fast.

"For Alvaro, the goal has to be a consequence. He has to play for the team, with his [team]mates, without thinking about goals. Goals are usually a consequence of teamwork."

Regardless, Morata will aim to be involved in upfront once again when Chelsea travels to for its Europa League clash with BATE Borisov on Thursday. The Blues will consequently welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Sunday with the hope of extending their unbeaten run of matches to 12.
