Both Germany and Netherlands will be seeking a much-needed win when they lock horns on October 13. In our match preview, we take a look at their respective forms, head-to-head analysis, and where to watch the game starting at 14:45 EST/20:45 CET.

Current form: How the Netherlands and Germany compare

Germany come into this game having beaten Peru 2-1 in a recent friendly. That finally ends a two game winless run for die Mannschaft, but it still does not erase some major doubts about Joachim Low's side. The visitors became the latest victims of the so-called "Champions Curse" earlier this summer when they crashed out of the World Cup in Russia during the group stages, following in the foosteps of fellow European nations France, Italy, and Spain in the process.

Since March, Germany have won just three games, including their 2-1 win over Peru in September. All have been narrow 2-1 results, against Saudi Arabia and then against Sweden at the World Cup; along the way, they have failed to beat Spain, Brazil, Austria, Mexico, South Korea, and France, with losses to Mexico, South Korea, Brazil, and Austria during that period.

As for the Netherlands, the Oranje failed to qualify for last summer's World Cup, making it the second straight major tournament they did not feature in. It was a very disappointing return for a team who finished second at the 2010 edition and third in 2014.

Like Germany, they, too have struggled since the start of 2018. The hosts have won just two games, and interestingly enough, will come into this game also having beaten Peru by an identical scoreline of 2-1, also in September during a friendly. However, just three days later, they were then defeated by France 2-1 in a major set-back for Ronald Koeman's side. So far, the win over Peru and a 3-0 victory over Portugal have been the team's only full success; they have also recorded draws against Italy and minnows Slovakia while losing 1-0 to England.

How have the Netherlands and Germany done so far in the UEFA Nations League?

Both the Netherlands and Germany will be hoping to improve their respective fortunes in the Nations League. France currently sit on top of the group, with four points, thanks to a win over the Oranje and a draw with die Mannschaft,. Germany have picked up just one point so far, and the Netherlands are on the bottom having lost their opening match.
