The French sensation, having risen to prominence in recent years, helped France to lift the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with a series of impressive performances.

Prior to the start of the new league season, the current Golden Boy made his loan move from AS Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain permanent. He subsequently became the second most expensive player of all-time with the French champions agreeing to pay their rivals a staggering 166 million pounds.

Although it's almost inconceivable to see Mbappe leave Tuchel's side soon, his performances this season has put a few clubs on red alert. The 19-year-old forward has scored four goals and has assisted three times in Ligue 1 alone this season.

Reports in English media over the weekend suggested that Manchester City was interested in signing the former AS Monaco prodigy. The Citizens are said to be interested in submitting an offer with Raheem Sterling involved in the near future.

However, Pep Guardiola has moved to rule out the likelihood of a move of that sort materializing.

"That is not going to happen. Sometimes I don't understand where the news comes from. City isn't going to spend the money that Mbappe and PSG deserve," Guardiola said to reporters.

"PSG is not going to sell him, I guess. He's not coming here and we are not going to swap him for anybody.

"We are not going to swap for Raheem or any other top player we have, People should be more respectful to my players, and to players of other teams."

Guardiola will oversee his Manchester City side take on Hoffenheim in its second group game of this season's Champions League on Tuesday. The Citizens were dealt a shock defeat in their opening game against Lyon.
