Lionel Messi had to come off the bench to save one point for Los Blaugranas, who will want to forget about this week as soon as possible.

Some think that Messi's beard -or lack there of- has something to do with this streak, but it seems that something is not in sync at Barcelona this season.

The team's summer signings have failed to impress, their icons are not enjoying their best form, and if it wasn't for Messi, their results would be quite different. The best example came today, as "La Pulga" had to come from the bench to rescue one point for Los Blaugranas against Athletic, which meant that the league leaders only managed to win two points during the final week of September 2018.

This is not the first time in history where Los Blaugranas have seen three games go by without a win. According to stats provided by ESPN, the Catalan giants endured such a streak during the 2016-17 season. The only difference was that back then, Los Culés drew three games in a row (against Málaga, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid).

What's even more worrying for Ernesto Valverde's men is the fact that, whenever they have gone three straight wins without a win in recent history, Los Blaugranas haven't been able to win the title.

Added to that, the current La Liga champions saw a 14-game winning streak against Athletic at Camp Nou coming to an end, with Los Leones claiming their first point in Catalunya since 2001.
