The Spanish midfielder scored the first goal for Los Blancos just before the end of the first half.

The post-CR7 era has begun at Real Madrid, and with a new era comes a new man in charge of taking free kicks near the opponent's box. That man is none other than Spanish midfielder Isco, and he filled Cristiano Ronaldo's boots in style with an impressive free kick goal against Roma.

Isco's golazo couldn't have been timed better, since he scored with just seconds ahead of the halftime whistle. To make the goal even more valuable, Isco earned himself a spot in Real Madrid's history, as he became the first Spaniard to score a free kick goal in this competition for Los Blancos.

According to stats specialist Mister Chip, the Spanish giants had scored 24 goals via a free kick, but all of them had been scored by foreign players...until today.

Have a look at Isco's delightful finish. (Image might be geo-restricted).
