This is not the best of critiques for a 22-year-old trying to break into Germany’ starting eleven.

German star Toni Kroos has given a critique of team-mate Leroy Sane ahead of the UEFA Nations League kick-off, one that is attracting tons of attention. The reason for this is that the Real Madrid ace has gone public and slammed aspects of the youngster's game.

Sane had received a call-up to the national side after his unexpected 2018 World Cup snub despite winning the PFA Young Player of the Year prize after an impressive 2017/18 campaign. However, if Kroos' words are anything to go by, it appears the 22-year-old is far from being the complete package for his national side.

One aspect of Leroy that does not sit well with the World Cup winner is his attitude. The Los Blancos maestro believes that his countryman's sole focus isn't always the result, adding that he needs extra guidance on the pitch. Speaking at a press conference, the 28-year-old said, as per Bundesliga News:

"You sometimes get the feeling that it doesn't matter to him if we win or lose. It's about showing his qualities. Then he can be an absolute weapon for us."

"He has got everything to become a world-class player, but sometimes, he needs to be told what to do. If he brings all his quality to the pitch, he can help us a lot."

The fact that Sane has struggled to make Guardiola's starting eleven so far this season is even more worry for the former Schalke attacker. However, as stated by Kroos, the speedy attacker has the talent to become a world-class player.

With Mesut Ozil having retired and a number of die Mannschaft's senior players having disappointed in Russia, Leroy might find a golden opportunity to break into Low's plans. The 2014 World Cup champion begins their UEFA Nations League campaign against reigning world champion France needing to shake things up, which might open the door for the Premier League starlet.
