The Frenchman has attained a milestone his former teammate could not against Leganes.

Real Madrid's Karim Benzema claimed a milestone Cristiano Ronaldo could not reach with his first strike in Saturday's game against Leganes. The French international grabbed two goals in his side's third La Liga game of the season to ensure that he has now netted against 33 different opponents in the league, surpassing Ronaldo's achievement of scoring against 32.

The 30-year-old forward's historic night took sharp right after the commencement of the second half as he restored his side's lead after Guido Carrillo had canceled Gareth Bale's opener before half-time.

The Frenchman then added another goal in the 66th-minute to squash any prospective fightback by the visitors. Sergio Ramos subsequently put the icing on the cake from the penalty spot five minutes later.

Interestingly, Leganes was the only side Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score against among the 33 La Liga teams he faced during his career with Los Blancos. Following the Portuguese forward's departure, Karim Benzema has honed the role of his side's talisman with his tally after three La Liga games now standing at four.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is yet to score in a competitive game for Juventus making three Serie A appearances.
