Wolverhampton may have secured their return to the Premier League for the upcoming campaign, but last season's Championship winner is making great strides in preparation. The latest step comes in the transfer window, with the West Midlands side growing closer to signing Joao Moutinho.
This is as stated by several British outlets, including BBC Sport, Sky Sports, and others. The midfielder will reportedly cost the newly-promoted side $6.6m despite offering bags of experience.

If successfully completed, this would be an excellent piece of business for the Wolves, as they will acquire a talented man. He is 31 and will join from Monaco, where he scored one and assisted seven goals last season.
Moutinho has enjoyed tons of success en route to racking up over 600 club appearances, winning the Primeira Liga in 2011, 2012 and 2013 during his Porto days. He then made the switch to Ligue 1 and helped his French side win the league in 2016/17.
The midfielder was also a key member of the Portugal squad that won Euro 2016. He was also a member of Fernando Santos' crew that made the round of 16 in the 2018 World Cup.
The fact that Wolves will get a vastly-experienced player has left many shocked. Tweets flooded on Twitter regarding this move, with one person jokingly suggesting the English outfit should be investigated over this deal.

Moutinho will join countryman Rui Patricio as another Portuguese addition to Nuno's side since securing promotion. It will be interesting to see how the Molineux Stadium side fares in 2018/19.
