The Argentine ace took his time to decide if he would extend his contract with Los Blaugranas. He did so during the last months of 2017.

Lionel Messi is regarded by many -if not all- as the best player in history, and that surely doesn't come cheap.

Questions emerged after the Blaugrana all-time top scorer signed a contract extension with the team last year until the end of the 2020-21 season, and finally, Football Leaks shed light on the superstar's new contract.

According to documents revealed by Football Leaks, Messi earns 100 million euros per season (around 121 million dollars) via a number of clauses. His salary before taxes goes up to €71M, and adding to that, there's a loyalty clause of €70M. Added to that, there's a re-signing clause of €63.5M, which takes the total amount to €417M in four years, according to the documents leaked earlier today.

Other clauses inside Messi's contract include the amount of money he would earn if the team wins the UEFA Champions League (€12M) and an extra €2M if the player performs in 60% of the games Los Blaugranas play in each season.
