Doubts have been raised over his availability for the Blues' next two games.

In the 2-2 draw between Chelsea and Man United, critics of Eden Hazard were quick to point out how the attacker went missing in a crucial game. However, a number of sources claim there was an understandable reason for the Belgian's underwhelming display.

Kristof Terreur of HLN tweeted on Monday morning that the Premier League's top scorer left the Red Devils clash with back pain. The reporter pointed out that Eden was fouled more often than before in that dramatic Stamford Bridge draw which likely caused the issue.

John Cross of the Mirror writes that rough tackles from Nemanja Matic and Ashley Young were the contributing factor, with the foul from the latter requiring on-pitch treatment. The report states that the former Lille sensation woke up the day after the match with restriction in his movement to hand the Blues a fitness worry.

On the other hand, Jake Heasman of the Sun tweeted a picture of the Belgian holding his lower back in apparent discomfort during the warm-up. He thus suggests that Hazard could have been nursing this problem from before kick-off. Regardless, the Ballon d'Or candidate went on to complete the whole 90 minutes.

No official statement has been made by the London giant. Nonetheless, it has already been claimed that the Chelsea number 10 is a doubt for their next two games.

The next match for Sarri's men will be a Europa League clash with BATE. The Italian boss has favored rotating his squad on Thursdays, meaning Eden was likely to sit that one out. Doubt has also been cast on his availability for the weekend trip to Burnley.
