The first edition of the Campeones Cup saw the better team come out on top, as Tigres managed to walk away from BMO Field with a 3-1 win.
The Mexican side were always in control of the game, and things got better for them with two incidents taking place in the first half. Dueñas' goal gave the team more confidence, and Sebastian Giovinco's injury paved the way for their victory.
As the second half entered its final 30 minutes, Dueñas scored his second goal of the evening thanks to a well-placed shot.

An own goal by Zavaleta capped the win for Tigres, who ended up conceding a late goal via a penalty. The first Campeones Cup in history was a raging success for the Mexican side. The downside is that we will have to wait one more year to find out which team takes over.
Here's how the Mexican side celebrated their win on their Twitter feed.
"The Campeones Cup will travel to San Nicolás de Los Garza, Nuevo León. #ThisIsTigres"
