The Spanish side has made quite an investment for this season, and they will try to show their worth when playing against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.

Juventus has been listed as one of this year's biggest title contenders in the UEFA Champions League since Cristiano Ronaldo's signing. On Wednesday, the bianconeri side will try to live up to the hype, as they face their first challenge in this competition against Valencia.

The hosts made quite an investment during the offseason, trying to recover their glory of old. Unfortunately for them, the experiment hasn't paid off since they are yet to win their first La Liga game. Marcelino's men have drawn three of their four competitive games, with the other one ending in a 2-0 loss vs Espanyol.

Added to that, the Spanish side will have to deal with a trio of injury concerns: Geoffrey Kondogbia, Ezequiel Garay and Francis Coquelin, who seems to have the best chance to earn a spot in the squad.

On the other side of the pitch, Massimiliano Allegri owns one of the most talented teams ever assembled by the Old Lady. This piles up the pressure on the Italian side, but the talent and experience possessed by most of their players should help them in reaching their dream of winning this trophy for the bianconeri one more time.

Wednesday's game might prove a bit difficult for the Italian champions, as Mattia De Sciglio and Andrea Barzagli are injury doubts for the away side. Furthermore, Juve execs may find it appropriate to ban Douglas Costa from playing, mainly due to his controversial red card on Sunday, which saw the wingman throwing elbows, a head-butt and spitting against a Sassuolo defender.
