Tottenham Hotspur had its hopes of a win sank via two late goals by the Nerazzurri.

Mauricio Pochettino and his men were dealt a massive blow in their first UEFA Champions League outing of the season against Inter Milan. The team, despite taking the lead at the San Siro, saw the host stage a fightback to nick the win a few minutes away from full time.

Christian Eriksen grabbed the opener in the 53rd minutes after his shot went past Samir Handanovic following a deflection off Miranda. His side who looked comfortable for most of the proceeding, however, saw its lead relinquished in the 85th minute via a stunner by Mauro Icardi.

Inter Milan then captured all three points and served the visitors a cold heartbreak after Matias Vecino headed home from close range in the 92nd minute. The defeat meant that for the first time under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham had recorded three losses on the bounce across all competitions.

Coincidentally, all the games which were against Watford, Liverpool and Inter Milan ended in 2-1 in favor of the opponents.
