The measure was proposed by some of Europe's best coaches in the annual Elite Coaches' Forum.

This summer's atypical transfer window has been frowned upon by UEFA's main man, Aleksandr Ceferin. UEFA's president wants to bring equality into European football, and with that in mind, the exec will push for the same transfer deadline day for all European leagues, in order to grant all teams the same chances of landing top-caliber signings when each season starts.

The need for a similar transfer deadline day in all of Europe was brought up during the Elite Coaches Forum celebrated today in Nyon. Coaches such as Jose Mourinho, Julen Lopetegui, Rafael Benitez and Thomas Tuchel participated in this reunion, and urged UEFA's execs to take matters into their own hands.

UEFA's joint Secretary General Giorgio Marchetti stated that president Ceferin is willing to comply with this demand made by some of Europe's finest bosses.

Thomas Tuchel (PSG), Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus) and Jose Mourinho (Manchester United) exchange a few thoughts during the Elite Coaches Forum.

"All coaches attending this meeting think that there should be a similar transfer deadline day, and that date should be set before the beginning of each league," Marchetti stated.

This year, the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A closed their transfer windows before the end of the month, while the German Bundesliga, the Spanish top flight and Ligue 1 chose not to change their transfer deadlines. With this measure, UEFA would finally be forced to use a similar calendar in all leagues, making it easier for coaches around the world to add or drop players from their squads.
