About Segunda liga
The LigaPro is the second division league in Portugal. Founded in 1990, the tournament was initially named the Segunda Divisão de Honra (Second Division of Honour). This championship follows a double round-robin format. The team that amasses the most number of points gets crowned the champions while the top two sides earn automatic promotion to the Primeira Liga, the Portuguese top flight. The lowest-ranked teams get relegated to the third division.
