About Campeonato Nacional de Juniores
Campeonato Nacional de Juniores History, Format, Organization, Media Coverage
The Campeonato Nacional de Juniores is Portugal’s top-flight youth league. This competition shares similarities with the Primeira Liga in terms of format, with the season typically taking place between September and June while boasting a double round-robin system. A total of 24 teams, who are split into two groups (North and South) of 12, contest for the title each season. The top four clubs in each group progress to the Apuramento de Campeão where the champion is determined while the bottom eight enter the Apuramento de Manutenção to decide who gets relegated.
