About Coupe de France

The Coupe Charles Simon, commonly referred to as Coupe de France, is the most important cup competition run by the French Football Federation. The cup’s name pays tribute to Charles Simon, a French sportsman who died serving his country in World War I.

This competition is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including those coming from their overseas departments and territories. This year, the competition will celebrate its 102nd edition, with over 8,000 teams having a chance to play in this tournament.

The tournament consists of 14 rounds, with top-tier teams entering the competition in the Round of 32. All games are played on a single-game format, with the winner being determined by extra time or penalties if necessary. The competition final is played at Stade de France.

The 2017-18 campaign saw PSG winning their 12th title after beating Les Herbiers on May 8, 2018. Les Parisiens have won four titles in a row.
The 2018-19 Coupe de France will kick off on September 15, 2018. The cup’s final match will be held on April 27, 2019.

Did you know? Olympique Marseille has played 19 final matches, winning ten of those. Les Olympiens have not been able to win this title since 1989.
