The first Star Times channel saw the light on July 19, 2014.
Over the years, StarTimes Sports has covered some of the most popular disciplines in the world, including football, basketball, motorsport, rugby, aquatics, tennis, boxing, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, golf, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and more. The network has divided its coverage into specific channels over the years, which have included StarTimes Sports Arena, StarTimes Sports Focus, StarTimes Sports Life, StarTimes Sports Premium, StarTimes World Football, and StarTimes Sports 1, StarTimes Sports 2, and StarTimes Sports 3.

Boxing bouts sanctioned by the World Boxing Council, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and other events have been available on this channel. Added to that, StarTimes Sports Arena has been used as an overflow channel to cover football events for the German Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1.
StarTimes Sports Arena was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High Definition feed has also been made available in certain regions. A downscaled version of the HD feed may also be available.
