About Eurosport Australia

Eurosport is a pan-European television channel owned and operated by Discovery, Inc. The channel was launched on February 5, 1989 but suffered a brief closure period of one month in May 1991. Eventually, Eurosport would grow into one of the most watched sports channels in Europe due to its large number of broadcasting rights covering a wide range of sports, giving it the possibility to expand to other regions, such as the Asia-Pacific region.

Eurosport Australia was launched on November 15, 2009. The channel has devoted itself to cover relevant sports to the region, such as cricket, rugby, and Australian rules football. Other sports covered by Eurosport Australia in the past include athletics, basketball, boxing, cycling, equestrian sports, fencing, football, golf, horse racing, judo, motorsports (including Formula One and Formula E racing), snooker, swimming, tennis, university sports, winter sports, and the Olympic Games.

Speaking about football, Eurosport Australia has aired matches for the Swedish league (Allsvenskan) and the Norwegian top-tier (Superettan).

Eurosport Australia is available on the most popular pay-tv carriers in the country. The SD feed is available since 2009, but the HD feed is now available since its launch on November 3, 2014. Check local listings and channel numbers for availability.
