About

Arena Sport 3 Slovenia history, coverage, features

Arena Sport is a pay-tv sports network, which is owned and operated by Telekom Srbija, or Mts. The network was launched on August 27, 2010 in Serbia, adding localized content for other neighbor nations such as Slovenia since September 2010. It is one of the most popular sports channels in the country due to its content and variety of disciplines available to watch.

Since its launch, Arena Sport has included a variety of sports events to increase its viewership, mainly thanks to the number of channels included in the network which has increased to four in Slovenia. Some of the sports covered on this channel have included football, basketball, handball, hockey, rugby, baseball, motorsports, volleyball, tennis, and more. While domestic competitions have found their way into the channel’s grid, international tournaments and leagues from other countries have been favored in the channel’s programming over the years.

Speaking about football, Arena Sport 3 has been known for focusing on leagues such as La Liga, the French Ligue 1, the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A, the Portuguese Primeira Liga, and games for some lower-ranked European leagues like the Swiss Super League, the Scottish Premiership, the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, and more. Cup tournaments from Spain, Italy, Germany, England, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Serbia and Greece have also been covered on this channel. Added to that, UEFA Europa League matches, and UEFA Youth League games have also been included in the channel’s programming.

Arena Sport 3 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a HD feed was launched during the second half of the 2010s. With the launch of the High-Definition option, users who do not have access to HD technology may tune in on the channel via a downscaled version of the HD feed.
