Their loss against Mexico changed Germany's plans for the second game, including the absence of one of their leaders.

The 2014 FIFA World Champions are in serious risk of being eliminated from the competition, and they will have to fight for their survival without one of their leaders.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, coach Joachim Löw admitted that center back Mats Hummels will not be available for Saturday's clash, since the footballer experienced neck pains during the last couple of trainings with Die Mannschaft.

"Sweden has a great aerial game, so, it wouldn't make any sense for us to risk him. He will have to sit this one out," Löw stated.

Hummels didn't have the best of games against Mexico on Sunday, giving El Tri's strikers several chances to increase their 1-0 lead. As Löw has all but confirmed his absence in Saturday's game, his place will be taken by Nicklas Sule.

Germany's National Team has been eliminated in the Group Stage of the FIFA World Cup only once, and that took place back in 1938.
