The Spanish defender replied to Maradona's words about him not being in the same level as Uruguayan center back Diego Godín.

Sergio Ramos didn't forget about his feud with Diego Maradona. Right after Spain's win against Iran, Real Madrid's center back hit "El Pelusa" where it hurts him the most: his ego.

Earlier this week, Maradona had criticized Ramos' skills in defense. According to Maradona, Ramos shouldn't be considered as one of the best defenders in the world, urging fans to look at Uruguay's Diego Godín, who he referred to as "a crack".

Ramos hit back with a quote involving one of his bitter rivals with Barcelona and Maradona's compatriot: none other than Lionel Messi.

"Maradona was great, but everyone in Argentina knows that he's light years away from the best Argentinean player in history, which to me, is Lionel Messi," Ramos stated.

These words may come as a surprise to many, given Ramos' relationship with Messi throughout the years.

Only fans will be able to determine which player they like the most, but the Spanish center back surely delivered a big blow to the Argentinean legend.
