Man United now knows the astronomical figure they must pay to land the Welsh superstar.

While most of the media coverage has surrounded Cristiano Ronaldo and his hint at a Real Madrid exit, Los Blancos looks set to lose another star attacker in the form of Gareth Bale. The former Spurs ace has been linked with a move away from Spain and appeared to hint at that after Saturday's win over Liverpool.

The Welshman admitted after the 3-1 triump in Kyiv that he wishes to start regularly, which hasn’t happened lately under Zidane. As a result, the probable outcome of this dilemma is the winger leaving Madrid.

Florentino Perez is reportedly open to selling the 28-year-old and is ready to make a profit off him after his heroics in the Champions League final in which he scored two stunners. According to the Mirror, the Bernabeu president will demand double the $132.9 million they paid to sign Bale from Tottenham.

Other reports claim he will cost a few millions more – approximately $267m – which is just another astronomical figure. Man United is tipped as his likely destination, but the aforementioned asking price could put his Old Trafford switch in jeopardy.

The attacker earns roughly around $866,200 per week in Madrid, which should not be a problem for the Red Devils. However, the Premier League giant’s value their summer target at only $93m.

It will be interesting to see whether Mourinho’s side goes all out for the Welshman. The Special One is eager to splash the cash this summer with the aim of rebuilding his squad and his interest in the Welshman is no kept secret.
